Agricultural Training

An extensive and pro people training programme has been undertaken by the Agriculture Department for farmers, farm women and extension personnel of the Department to impart sustainable scientific knowledge enhance capacity building and bring about a behavioural change amongst them. Efforts are taken to enable the farming community of the State to adopt modern agricultural technologies through residential and on farm training programmes. The training of extension personnel are also carried out to improve their capacity building and skill.

Utilizing the fund available under State Development Plan during 2018-19, 540 nos. of Scheduled Castes farmers, 540 Scheduled Castes women farmers and 540 general farmers, 540 no. general farm women, 540 no. schedule tribe farmers and 540 no. scheduled tribe farm women were imparted residential training on Modern Agricultural Technologies at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Ramkrishna Mission Ashrama, Agriculture Training Centre Narendrapur,. Agriculture Training Centre, Fulia, Coochbehar, Kalyani, Burdawan, Chinsura & Malda. A sum total of Rs 38.41 lakh for farmers’ training and Rs. 38.26 lakh for women farmers’ training has been utilized during 2018-19
